About LEAD with LOVE Doula Services
(she/her) | Birth & Bereavement Doula
My name is Melody McCue, and I am the doula behind LEAD with LOVE Doula Services. I am a married mama of three, and it was my experiences with their births that led me to do this work. Although they were all vastly different from each other and had various challenges, I felt supported and empowered by my birth team (my husband, midwife, and Bradley Class instructor who is also a friend and a doula), and the experience was beautiful. As I started sharing their birth stories I came to realize that this is not the case for everyone. Knowledge and a calm supportive presence made all the difference for me, I know it can for you as well. I started out in the birth world by volunteering at a local pregnancy resource center, where my role was mainly assisting in education and prenatal appointments to help prepare parents for their births and parenting. I got the final pushes into doula land when my niece was born prematurely and passed away after a valiant NICU battle. I couldn’t be there to support her parents as much as I wished to, and wanted to change the story for other families walking through similar situations. So immediately I sought out training for Bereavement Doula work and became certified in that before taking the birth doula training. I’ve always been enamored with all things pregnancy and birth; placentas and umbilical cords and birthing humans are the most beautiful powerful things in the world to me, and now it is my honor to walk alongside parents as they go through this transformation. I live in Delaware Ohio with my husband, three kiddos, and our kitty. Proud to be serving Columbus Ohio and surrounding areas.
